Greer CPW Commissioners approved Monday a resolution to terminate its supplemental power sales agreement between the City of Greer and Piedmont Municipal Power Agency (PMPA) effective Dec. 31.

The agreement requires a 10-year notice and PMPA will continue to provide Greer CPW’s supplemental power through 2028.

$25 million grant awarded Inland Port expansion, Norfolk Southern

Inland Port Greer and Norfolk Southern awarded $25 million grant for expansion.
 

The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) announced a $25 million Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant to support the expansion at South Carolina Ports Authority’s (SCPA) Inland Port Greer, and the extension of Norfolk Southern’s Carlisle Passing Siding.

“We are very appreciative for the support of our Congressional delegation, S.C. Governor Henry McMaster, Secretary Chao, and the USDOT,” said Bill Stern, SCPA Board Chairman. “This is a strong, collaborative partnership by public and private entities, something the Trump Administration has put an emphasis on. We are proud to partner with these entities to better improve our infrastructure in South Carolina. While this project may be in the Upstate, it will serve the entire Southeast region for years to come.”

4th arrest made in Willis robbery and shooting

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have issued warrants on 37 year-old, Jeffery Kevin Mullins, Jr., in connection with the W.E Willis robbery that occurred on Sept. 25.
 

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have issued warrants on 37 year-old, Jeffery Kevin Mullins, Jr., in connection with the W.E Willis robbery that occurred on Sept. 25. This marks the fourth suspect arrested in the robbery and shooting incident; sixth overall, including Ronald Edmond and Kenyatta Foster, who were both arrested for Accessory After the Fact.

Mullins is incarcerated at the St. Lucie County Detention Center in St. Lucie, Fla., on unrelated charges. He is expected to be extradited at an undetermined time.
