Wolfgang Puck is bringing his signature restaurant, The Kitchen, to the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.
 

Wolfgang Puck is bringing his signature restaurant, The Kitchen, to the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport as part of the $125 million terminal improvement project.

The restaurant is the Piece de resistance of the Grand Hall that will house commissioned artworks of the historic upstate, other restaurants and amenities that will brand GSP as one of the most contemporary airports of its kind.

Two grants awarded fine arts community

Greer Cultural Arts Council was approved for $4,000 to promote four plays by the Greer Children’s Theatre during the 2016-2017 season.
 

Greer’s fine arts community was awarded two Accommodations Tax Grants totaling $14,125 Tuesday night at Greer City Council.

The City Auditorium Art Gallery was awarded $10,125 to provide lighting, hardware and signage for the building entrances on Line Street and Snow Street.

Lake Robinson enhancements made, Cunningham rate is cut

Lake Robinson has had some improvements made in preparation to the peak recreation season.
 

The Lake Cunningham shelter fee has been reduced while improvements to Lake Robinson has the park ready for the biggest usage time of the year.

Greer Commission of Public Works commissioners approved a $50 daily rate, down from $75, the past year for Lake Cunningham’s shelter. It has been rented only once this year.

Riverside places two bands in inaugural state festival
APR 19, 2016

The Riverside Concert Band has been selected to perform in the Inaugural SCBDA State Concert Band Festival.
 
 

The Riverside High School Concert Band and Wind Ensemble have been invited to perform in the Inaugural SCBDA State Concert Band Festival.

Twenty-nine South Carolina high school bands qualified, but only16 earned an invitation to perform in the state festival.  Riverside has two performing.

Greenville Chorale's spring concert offers two performances

The Greenville Chorale's spring concert, "A Great Sacred Song Fest," includes classical composers, sacred selections and hymns and spirituals in two concert performances: Sunday, April 17 at First Baptist Church, Greenville, and Sunday, April 24, at Taylors First Baptist Church.

Founded in 1961, the Greenville Chorale is 160 voices strong. The Chorale has been under the direction of Bingham Vick, Jr. since 1982.

Free GHS Minority Health Summit features Patti LaBelle Saturday

Ten years ago, more than 600 people gathered at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Simpsonville for the first Greenville Health System (GHS) Minority Health Summit.

The event exceeded expectations as a larger crowd than expected came together to learn about the state of minority health and health disparities.
