Wyatt is a 21-year-old from Piedmont. She attends Clemson University. She performed a jazz dance to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”.

Debbie Howard and Keydria Martinez were eliminated by garnering the fewest votes after the first week. The singers perform and the voting public votes on the Greer Idol website for their favorite performers from the Friday night performances.

Greer community embraces athlete who lost brother in Orlando massacre

Stanley Manolo Almodovar III was one of the 49 killed in Sunday's Orlando terrorist attack at a nightclub. His sister, Amanda, trains at the Rockstar Cheer & Dance gymnasium on Buncombe Road.
 
 

The Greer community is mourning and expressing its support for an athlete with a Greer cheer and dance gymnasium whose brother was killed in the Orlando massacre.

Amanda Almodovar, from Tedford, Tenn., participates with Rockstar Cheer and Dance on Buncombe Road. Her brother, Stanley Almodovar III, 23, was one of 49 killed Sunday morning by a terrorist inside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla.

An acre of lavender brought thousands of customers to what arguably turned out to be the inaugural Southern Hills Lavender Festival on Saturday.

“It was insane,” founder Mary Bergstrom said. “It took off by itself. We only used social media and it went viral.”

Freedom Blast to honor Preston Johnson; entertainment features Early Ray Band

Preston Johnson, left, who helped organize the festival since the inaugural 2009, will have the recognition of the vets renamed the Preston Johnson Veterans Walk.
 
 

The 2016 Freedom Blast Festival will honor Preston Johnson a Vietnam veteran whose service included leadership at both the local and state levels of Disabled American Veterans.

The festival is Saturday June 25, 6-10:30 p.m.
