Moonlight Movies begin a 9-week run in June at City Park

Ovation Brands CEO Anthony Wedo announced he hiring of financial advisers to assist in possible sale of Ryan's and other buffet properties.
 

Ovation Brands Inc., a Greer-headquartered owner of Ryan’s and four other buffet brands, has announced it has hired financial advisors Duff & Phelps to assist in a possible sale of the business.

Ovation CEO Anthony Wedo told Nation’s Restaurant News, there are “several interested parties,” but it’s too early to say whether the company will be sold.

A barbecue delivery fundraiser for Miss Greater Greer Anna Brown and Miss Greater Greer Teen Emma Kate Rhymer is taking order now through March 25. Delivery to schools and businesses, minimum 3 orders, is Friday March 27.

A plate is $7 and includes barbecue, beans, slaw, chips and a brownie.

Sister Hazel to headline Greer Family Fest

The 31st Annual Pelham Medical Center Family Fest events and its main entertainment was announced at Greer City Park today. Left to right: Mark Owens (President/CEO Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce), Tony Painter (festival chairperson), Tony Kouskolekas, (President of Pelham Medical Center) and Jeff Howell (commission chairman at Greer Commission of Public Works).
 

Sister Hazel, an alternative rock band named for a local missionary who ran a homeless shelter, from Gainesville, Fla., will be the headline act at the 31st annual Greer Family Fest May 1-2.

New River Bluegrass, a Greer band that has reached the top of gospel music charts, and will perform at Dollywood during Memorial Day weekend, is also scheduled to perform.

Subway restaurants in South Carolina plan to donate 5,000 catered meals and $25,000 for S.C. National Guard troops participating in Vigilant Guard Training exercises in March.
 
 

Subway restaurants in South Carolina plan to donate 5,000 catered meals and $25,000 for S.C. National Guard troops participating in Vigilant Guard Training exercises in March.

The restaurant’s campaign will feature 30-ounce Subway, Coca-Cola and USO cups while supplies last. Each cup has a code on it that consumers can text for a chance to win a trip to the Firecracker 250 during the July 4 weekend at Daytona International Speedway.

Lowes Foods will build its newest concept grocery store at Riverside Commons. The

Lowes Foods will be anchoring its first grocery store in the Upstate at Riverside Commons, across from Riverside High School, GreerToday.com has learned.

The new concept store, to be built at the corner of Hammett Bridge Road and Suber Road, will be 42,500 square feet and employ about 100. Tentative opening is spring 2016.
