The recipient of a cheetah made by a face painter appeared pleased with the result.
 

Sharonview Federal Credit Union held a block party Saturday to introduce the community to the new business at 1324 W. Hampton Blvd.

Seminars were conducted for the adults, children had plenty of playtime with balloons, face painters and having caricatures drawn. Lunch was served to all by Fatz.

New entertainment venue to replace Greer Opry House

Elvis, among hundreds of memorabilia being sold at the Greer Opry House, will be leaving the building for the final time by the end of May.

The Greer Opry House will undergo a complete interior and exterior upfit and will serve as a multi-purpose entertainment venue under new management.

Steve Sandlin, owner of the venue at 107 Cannon Street, told GreerToday.com, he has hired Sharon Murry as general manager who will book a variety of entertainment for a more diverse age group.

One of the most seasoned chefs in Greer begins cooking this evening at the Lake View Steak House.

Chef Les Waugh cut his teeth cooking as a youth in a family of eight. “I had to do a lot of cooking growing up and I enjoyed that,” he said.

Wing Fling Tuesday will close 100 block of Trade Street

The Greer Family Fest is just getting warmed up.

Saturday’s schedule has a variety of activities for children and as the day wears on the entertainment takes over highlighted by Sister Hazel at 8 p.m.

The weather forecast couldn't be better with high in the mid-70s under sunny skies and dipping into the 60s in the evening.

Greer is expecting possibly its biggest turnout ever at the 31st Annual Pelham Medical Center Family Fest beginning today at 6 p.m.

The weekend weather, clear skies and temperatures in the 70s, and entertainment featuring some homegrown, award-winning national talent are scheduled. It will all lead to Saturday’s finale with Sister Hazel performing.
