12 finalists set for S.C. Football Hall of Fame honor

Deshaun Watson, former quarterback of the National Champion Clemson Tigers, holding trophy, was honored in April as the 2017 Blanchard-Rogers Award winner.

 

 

A dozen finalists have been announced for the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) Blanchard-Rogers Award, which is resented to the most outstanding collegiate player of the year that has South Carolina ties.

The Blanchard-Rogers Trophy is awarded at the organization’s annual enshrinement banquet on April 19, 2018 in Greenville.

Former Clemson standout quarterback Deshaun Watson was honored in April as the 2017 recipient. The award is named for legendary players Doc Blanchard (Army) and George Rogers (University of South Carolina). 

The finalists are:

Jake Bentley (QB/USC) 

P.J. Blazejowski (QB/Furman)

Austin Bryant (DE/Clemson)

Kelly Bryant (QB/Clemson)

Anthony Ellis (DE/Charleston Southern)

Poona Ford (Hilton Head, SC/DT/Texas)

Darius Leonard (LB/SC State)

Skai Moore (LB/USC)

Dorian O’Daniel (LB/Clemson)

Mason Rudolph (Rock Hill, SC/QB/Oklahoma State)

Andre Stoddard (RB/Wofford)

Antonio Wilcox (RB/Furman)
