7th-grade students score high on the SAT

Two home-schooled 7th-grade students in Greer will be recognized at the S.C. State Recognition Ceremony for their outstanding achievement on the SAT test, which they took alongside other middle school, high school and college students at Greenville Technical College earlier this school year.

Olivia Henn (Critical Reading, Writing) and Joanna Henn (Math, Critical Reading, Writing) will receive recognition for their high scores in the subject areas indicated on May 12 at Furman University.

To receive state recognition, students must score at least 530 in Math, 510 in Critical Reading, or 500 in Writing.

Joanna Henn (Critical Reading, Total Score) qualified to receive Grand Recognition for her scores in the indicated areas on May 18 in a ceremony at Duke University. Students must score at least 680 in Math, 650 in Critical Reading, 650 in Writing, or a total score of at least 1850.
