Greer First Baptist will hold a 9/11 Service of Heroes on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. The Boiling Springs Fire Department, in this photo, traditionally holds a service at its memorial with a steel beam from the Twin Towers in New York City.
The service will be at Greer City Park Amphitheater Sunday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. The event will honor all of first responders and reinforce the lessons of empathy, service and unity that arose from the 9/11 tragedy.
The worship service is open to the public.
Mayor Rick Danner will welcome and speak to the community, and Pastor Doug Mize will bring a message of hope.
First responders are invited for a free lunch at City Hall after the service
