Arvie Bennett Jr. announced he is taking a hiatus from performing to finish writing a book. 

Arvie Bennett Jr. will play his final concert Saturday at the Stomping Grounds from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. Bennett, the lead vocals in the Arvie Jr. Band, said he is taking a hiatus to complete a book he is writing.

Bennett said he made a formal announcement to offset any other speculation or rumors why the band is ending its performances.

In his announcement Bennett tells of a life that included emotional and physical abuse, sexual abuse as a youth, being in a loveless marriage, suffering from mental illness and clinical depression.
