Baseball player from Upstate collapses at practice, dies

A baseball player with ties to North Greenville University and former standout at Travelers Rest High School collapsed and died Friday.

Parker Neff, 21 died after collapsing on the field during practice at USC Salkehatchie on March 29, confirmed the Allendale County Coroner.

Neff, a redshirt sophomore, was on the field preparing for practice when he collapsed. He was taken to Allendale County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 p.m.

Neff graduated Travelers Rest High School in 2016 and attended at North Greenville University and USC Upstate before transferring to USC Salkehatchie.
