Running in Greer has its rewards for beer drinkers.

The inaugural Kegs & K’s run was held in Greer Saturday with a 4k road race. Runners participating were welcomed with a free beer at the start and rewarded with another beer at the finish.

Runners began and finished at the City Park entrance after a trip up and back along Cannon Street.

“We had (120) runners register and that’s pretty good for a first time. We’re looking forward to second annual event here next year,” said Carolina Robertson, Executive Director for Greer Relief. Proceeds benefit the non-profit.
