Bentley is impressive in Old Dominion's first scrimmage
Freshman Shuler Bentley was impressive in Old Dominion’s first preseason scrimmage Monday night.

Bentley, the two-time South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year from Byrnes High School, is touted as ODU's quarterback of the future. He is expected to redshirt this fall as senior quarterback Taylor Heinicke winds up his record-setting career.

Bentley and fellow freshman Travis Fulgham hooked up on the most spectacular of 90 plays during ODU's first preseason scrimmage at Foreman Field when Fulgham hauled in a 96-yard TD pass from Bentley. Fulgham fended off a defender half a step behind him, gathered in a pass 50 yards downfield and sprinted untouched.
