Bi-Lo Holdings announced it is closing 23 low performing stores before or on Monday, Nov. 17.
No stores in Greer are closing but two in Greenville County will be among the 23 closed – Hampton Point, 3039 Wade Hampton Blvd., Taylors and 2712 Anderson Road, Greenville.
Employees for the stores were reportedly told last Friday of the closings located in South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Louisiana.
Brian Wright, a spokesman for Bi-Lo told a trade news publication, “With much of our attention during the last two years placed on merging 207 Bi-Lo and 480 Winn-Dixie stores and integrating 163 acquired Delhaize America stores, we purposely delayed what is normally an ongoing process of reviewing our network of stores.
Wright said the company plans to open 25 new or remodeled stores during this quarter.
