Five suspended Blue Ridge High School athletes turned themselves in to the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center Friday to face assault charges.

They were charged with assault and battery by a mob for an incident on Tuesday at the high school.

The mother of a 15-year-old boy told investigators that five teenagers held her son down on the lockerroom floor during the incident.

Gatlin Hunter Miller, 18, Eric Witrago-Diaz, 18, David Caleb Lynn, 17, Stephen Douglas Bishop, 17 and an unidentified 16-year old boy are all charged with assault and battery by a mob 3rd degree.

Miller, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, pulled down his pants and attempted to sit on the victim's face with his bare buttocks exposed. When the 15-year-old pushed Miller off, investigators said Miller then sat on the victim’s chest.

The five subjects are being held in the Greenville County Detention Center on a temporary bond awaiting a bond hearing. They are prohibited back on any Greenville County school property unless given permission by the school.
