Blue Ridge girls eliminated from the 3A basketball playoffs

Greer boys play at Lower Richland Tuesday night

The Blue Ridge girls were ousted, 66-33, by Dreher Monday from the Class 3A girls basketball playoffs in a first round game. Dreher is the defending state champions.

Dreher advances to the second round Thursday night in a home game against Seneca. The Lady Bobcats beat Region 3 champion Union County, 44-40.

Kaydra Duckett led Dreher with 18 points, Makayla Johnson had 17 and Jhileiya Dunlap scored 14 points.

Ross Mathias scored 15 points for Blue Ridge and Courtney Robinson added 11. Dreher held Blue Ridge to 11 field goals – only 4 in the second half – on 54 shots.

The 3A boys begin play Tuesday night with Greer at Lower Richland.
