The pilot of the plane returning the Clemson Tigers to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport flew the tiger paws flag. The team also returned with a water cannon salute by GSP.

BMW Manufacturing celebrated Clemson University’s national championship in a special way – lighting the BMW Zentrum at night in orange and purple.

The special lighting will continue through Monday night.

Just in case you missed it, the Empire State Building recognized the Tigers win over Alabama lighting its building in Clemson colors.

The 35-31 defeat of Alabama is already being labeled as one of the greatest championship games in modern memory.

Clemson will host a National Championship Parade Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.  The parade with start in downtown Clemson and end at the Tigers' Football Complex (WestZone).

The parade route:

• begins on College Ave. downtown.

• right on 93
 
• left on Williamson and stops at the entrance to the gill on the east side of the stadium
