BMW Group has scheduled a significant announcement to take place at the Greer plant on Friday, March 28.

The importance is underlined by a host of speakers including BMW Group Chairman Norbert Reithofer, Manfred Erlacher, President BMW Manufacturing, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzer.

The announcement will take place in the North Assembly Hall where the X3 and X4 are assembled.

The $13.4 million, 440,000 square foot assembly warehouse built adjacent to the Inland Port is also part of the overall strategy for the manufacturing and distribution of it vehicles world-wide.

The announcement precedes Greer BMW Manufacturing introducing the X4 Sports Activity Coupe in its world debut at the New York International Auto Show beginning April 16. The updated X3 and the Concept X5 eDrive will also be featured with all three cars manufactured in Greer.

The 2015 X4 is in production at the Greer plant and will be in United States showrooms this spring.
