Boiling Spring Fire District launches National Fire Prevent Week activities

 Greenville County’s Boiling Springs Fire District will hold an open house on Saturday, Oct. 5,  from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to launch its 2019 National Fire Prevention Week activities. This year’s theme is “Not every hero wears a cape.. Plan and practice your escape.

 The event will take place at the District’s Station 14 located at 228 S. Batesville Road (near Buena Vista Elementary School) in Greenville County.

 Among the day’s activities, the Boiling Springs Fire District will feature:

  • Apparatus / equipment displays,
  • Free blood pressure checks,
  • Educational activities utilizing the fire safety house, fire extinguisher training, and an automobile extrication demonstration,
  • Water activities utilizing a fire hose and targets, as well as a bounce house, slide, and coloring/project station, and
  • Food and refreshments.

 Boiling Springs’ Chaplain and Community Risk Reduction Officer Gary Rogers is coordinating the day’s events and said, “We look forward to National Fire Prevention Week every year. It provides another opportunity for us to interact with the community we serve, invite them to our house, and provide entertaining educational opportunities designed to save lives.”
