Brent Waters cut 13 second off his previous best time in the 400 freestyle during Tuesday's final regular season meet. The Greer standout will be chasing a team record in next week's Region swim event.

The Greer boys and girls swim team finished second in their final dual meet Wednesday vs. Christ Church. It also served as a tuneup to the region meet Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Westside Aquatic Center.

Brent Waters had a superb swim cutting 13 seconds off his 400 freestyle best time. That gives Waters an opportunity to break the six-year Greer record at the regional meet.

Zach Horton recorded his best time of the season in the 50 freestyle and he also has an opportunity to challenge Greer’s record next week. He is near qualifying for the state meet.

The boys 200 free A team cut two seconds off their time and is also near state automatic club tying, pending the regional meet.

Greer’s boys will be chasing more state cuts and a new team 400 free record in the regionals. Swimming against two of the top 3A teams – Greenville and Eastside – could help create the environment for fast races.
