Abigail Busha, representing Greenville County, finished first runner-up in the Young Miss South Carolina competition in Hartsville.

Busha also received the Gold Presidential Community Service Award, Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital Helping Hands award, Sweetheart Award, 4th runner-up color photogenic award, and top 12 Young Miss finalist.

She was among 135 contestants who competed in their age divisions, with 93 being age 7 and up. She is the daughter of Brent and Ellen Busha of Greer.

Busha is a rising seventh grader at Riverside Middle School, where she was a sixth grade student council representative, a member of the orchestra, and on the honor roll. She is also a student at the International Ballet Academy in Greer.

Busha has been active in the community working with the Salvation Army and the Greenville Humane Society for the past three years.

Busha promotes her platform, Fostering Futures, in hopes of making others more aware of the need for foster care providers, while also sponsoring activities that provide donations and funds which benefit several community agencies who serve children in crisis.

Busha is the second International Ballet Academy (IBA) student to be recognized in this year’s state pageants.

Davia Bunch, a former accomplished IBA dancer, won a Talent preliminary in the Miss South Carolina competition.
