Byrnes screening process at football games include metal detectors

Metal detectors will be placed at all entrance gates at Byrnes High School’s Nixon Field this season as part of its new screening process. Detectors will be in place two hours before kickoff.

All visitors entering Nixon Field will be required to pass through metal detectors.  Spectators with bags, purses or backpacks will be required to use a different line for screening.

Byrnes plays Greer in its season opener on Aug. 17.

Prohibited items

• weapons, including those carried with a permit

• illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages

• fireworks or explosives

• coolers

• animals (with exception of certified service animals)
