Cancer-Fighting Kitchen is at First Presbyterian Saturday

The Cancer-Fighting Kitchen, featuring two chefs from California demonstrating and serving food prepared, is scheduled Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Greer at 100 School Street.

The event, part of Healing Journeys, is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the cost is $49 and includes lunch. Register here.

Lise Alschuler and Laura Pole will present information on nutritional support to aid individuals in recovery and recurrence of cancer. Alschuler will present evidence based nutritional and botanical support to complement wellness. “Chefnurcian” (chef, nurse, musician) Pole will offer kitchen table wisdom and scientific knowledge to demonstrate how to include support food selections in daily meals.

Greer’s Nancy Welch will attend but will not cook. She presented at Healing Journeys last year in Spartanburg.

Alschuler, has received many awards for her work as a naturopathic oncologist and is the co-author of,  “The Definitive Guide to Cancer: An Integrated Approach to Prevention, Treatment and Healing” as well as “Five to Thrive: Your Cutting-Edge Cancer Prevention Plan.”

Pole, President of Eating for a Lifetime, is a health supportive gourmet chef, an oncology clinical nurse specialist, a certified fitness instructor, and a musician for over 50 years. She is considered one of the leading authorities on shaping the field of health and cooking for people with serious illnesses.
