Two days of training camp for the Carolina Panthers at Spartanburg’s Wofford College is the book and the excitement around the team has picked up.

The first day of camp, Thursday with the annual Kick Off party, saw fans enjoying the festivities leading up to the first evening practice. The fans came to welcome the beginning of a new season here in Spartanburg.

Three videos introduced fans to former players quarterback Jake Delhomme, linebacker great Sam Mills Jr., and wide receiver Steve Smith Sr.

The TopCats performed with several groups of young cheerleaders from the area. Sir Purr received his award for most entertaining NFL mascot last season.

The Panthers continue summer camp with practice Saturday, Sunday and Monday 9:25-11:30 a.m. The Panthers are off Tuesday.
