The Greer children's July 4 parade is 10 a.m. Saturday.

The 18th annual July 4 Kids Parade in Greer will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. beginning at the 200 block of West Church Street.

The approximately mile-long parade route takes in the Arlington-Davenport neighborhood. The weather forecast is for temperatures in the mid-70s under partly sunny skies. The public is invited.

Children and their parents will navigate the route behind an escort by the Greer police department.

Danny and Sherri Lynch started the traditional neighborhood parade when their children were young. Danner and his family maintained the event when the Lynch family moved from the neighborhood.

Homes along the route are adorned with patriotic bunting and American flags. Residents sit on their porches paying tribute to the children and their parents in the parade.
