Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne Jr. celebrate a touchdown in Clemson's dominating win over Alabama for the national championship Monday.

 

Clemson gave Alabama a whipping Monday night to win its second national football championship in three years, 44-16, in Santa Clara, Calif.

Clemson becomes the first team in the modern era to finish 15-0.

The Tigers led start to finish and held the highly vaunted Alabama offense to 16 first half points.

Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney won his second national championship in three years, both times beating Alabama. Clemson has won three national championships, Danny Ford winning the first one.

Clemson’s offense overwhelmed the Tide and the defense denied Alabama on fourth down three times for a first down.
