This is Fenster's third season in Greenville. He was the Drive's hitting coach in 2012.
Joining Fenster for the second year in Greenville are hitting coach Nelson Paulino and pitching coach Walter Miranda. Head athletic trainer Satoshi "Toshi" Kajiyama returns to Greenville for the first time since 2007.
Greenville begins its 10th season on April 9 with a seven-game home stand – four with Augusta and three with Lexington. The Drive ends the season with an unusual 5-game home series versus Savannah.
Kipper, 50, in his 16th season with the Red Sox, was promoted after serving as pitching coach at Portland the past five years. Kipper was the Greenville Drive pitching coach 2005-2006 and 2008-2009. He was the Boston bullpen coach in 2002.
Kipper was the eighth player picked in the 1982 draft and played eight seasons as a left-handed middle relief pitcher. He played for the California Angels 1985, Pittsburgh Pirates 1985-91, and Minnesota Twins in 1992.
Billy McMillon, a former Clemson standout, will return as manager for the Portland Double-A Red Sox team. He was Eastern League Manager of the Year last season leading Portland to a franchise-high 88 wins (previous best 86 in 1995).
McMillon has been minor league manager with the Red Sox for six of his eight coaching seasons. He managed Greenville in 2010-2011 and was hitting coach for the Drive in 2008-2009.
