Captain Malcolm Fitts, the first full-time firefighter of the Lake Cunningham Fire Department died Friday. He was 74.

Fitts, known for his unlit cigar he chewed most of the day, only lit the cigar when a truck needed repair. His career began, Nov. 5, 1967.
