Greetings from Foothills Philharmonic,

As many of you are aware, on March 15 we made the difficult decision to suspend all activities as an organization until April 15. This was a decision that was in line with the recommendations of both elected and public health officials. We had many hopes that this suspension would just be that, and not a cancellation of the remainder of the season. Unfortunately, it is quite clear that, while we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel as a nation, things have not improved to the point that we can finish the remainder of the season. Therefore, I have to make the unpleasant announcement that the remainder of the 2019-20 season has been cancelled.

While this is indeed sad news, let's seek to remember the 2019-20 season not as the one that was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, let's remember what you, our loyal audience, helped us to accomplish this season. Together, we were able to create a brand new concert series (Spotlight Chamber Series), we held our second Future Stars Scholarship Competition, but most importantly of all, we celebrated the previous 19 seasons through repeat performances of classical favorites. All of the things that we were able to accomplish were done because of your support, and we want to thank you for everything from the bottom of our hearts!

In the next few weeks, we will be publishing information on the website and on social media pertaining to the upcoming 2020-21 season. In addition, we are exploring the possibility of holding a special concert this summer (we will be providing more information about this as soon as we are able to finalize the specifics, so please stay tuned for more information!)

Please let me encourage you to stay tuned for all of these announcements, as well as put these dates in your calendar. While the last time we saw many of you was at our Christmas Concert, we want to see you all when we are able to take to the stage again!

At this time, we encourage everyone to remain safe and healthy, and we hope to be able to see you all again under much different circumstances when this crisis ends. Thank you for your loyal support over the years, and we hope to see you as soon as is humanly possible.

Sincerely,

Evan B. Duke, D.M.A.
President, Board of Directors
