Game day will take on a different connotation in downtown Greer.

Platform 42 is opening a games, comics and collectibles shop at The Depot, 300 Randall Street Suite E. A 12-hour, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. opening is scheduled on Saturday.

Paul Forte is the shop’s owner. The boutique store will have card and board games and feature events and tournaments for all age levels.

“We wanted to open a place for younger people to be able to hang out downtown and play games,” said Forte.

“We’ve lived in Greer for nine years. We fell in love with the Depot when we saw it. The character of the building and the fact that it used to be a train station drew us in,” Forte said.

Store hours are 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. weekdays except Tuesday. Saturday and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Contact the store at 864-655-7316.
