Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Greenville man on multiple child sex offenses.
James Matthew Fortner, II, 44, of Greenville was arrested for multiple child sex offenses. The investigation stems from information that was brought forth by the victim to investigators on March 15, according, GCSO Specialized Investigations Division investigators found that Fortner committed multiple sex acts, including sexual battery on the victim during a time period of around eight years.
Investigators executed a search warrant which yielded a variety of electronic devices that corroborated the victim’s story and Fortner was arrested Wednesday following a meeting with investigators at the county square offices.
Fornter is facing the following charges:
• Four counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 1st degree,
• Six counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 2nd degree,
• Three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 3rd degree,
Fornter is in the Greenville County Detention Center on no bond, according to the GCSO.
