Greenville Technical Charter High School is nationally recognized

Published on Friday, May 11, 2018

Greenville Technical Charter High School (GTCHS) has been recognized as one of  U. S. News and World Report’s best high Schools.

The rankings help demonstrate the top-rated high schools across the country and how they work to serve and educate each student in their school, teaching them to utilize basic skills as well as becoming college and career ready.

“I am most impressed by how our school is closing the achievement gap for traditionally under-performing student groups," Assistant Principal Jeff Taylor said.  "State-wide this achievement gap is 25.2 percent. At GTCHS the gap is 2.5 percent.”

GTCHS is a middle college where 62 percent of students in grades 10-12 take college courses with a first-time success rate of 9 percent.  While this exceeds many AP/IB college-ready results, they are not analyzed or taken into consideration for this award.
