Greer Police arrest Greenville man for murder at laundromat

Greer Police have arrested a Greenville man and charged him in the fatal shooting on Halloween evening at a laundromat of a man.

Kevin Choice, 40, (also known as Calvin Choice) is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and criminal conspiracy, according to arrest warrants.

Officers were called to the Speedwash Laundromat on Arlington Road around 6:25 p.m., Oct. 31 and found Adam Vazquez, 39, on the ground. Choice shot Vazquez once inside a Ford Explorer and three more times as Vazquez was lying on the ground, according to the arrest warrants. Vazquez was pronounced dead near a minivan.

Choice reportedly pursued Vazquez for several hours before the shooting, according to reports.

Vazquez left behind two children, ages 7 and 14. He reportedly was a chef at Sonny’s Grill according to reports.

Choice was arrested by Greer Police on Dec. 5 on unrelated charges in Greenville County. He was placed in custody of Greer Police and charged with Vazquez’ murder. The investigation remains active and more arrests are expected, according to Greer Police.

Two unknown black male subjects were observed fleeing the parking lot in the direction of the ABC store on E. Fairview Avenue, according to the reports. A K-9 track was initiated without result.
