The Greer Police Department is turning to greater Greer citizens for assistance in the identification of a subject involved in an armed robbery that took place Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. at the Dollar General at 14165 East Wade Hampton Boulevard.

The subject, described by police as an older white male, with a black ball cap, black jacket and blue jeans entered the store carrying a silver handgun.

Upon entering he went immediately to the back of the store to the office where one of the victims was located and demanded money.

Police said the victim took an unknown amount of cash out of the register and the safe.

A customer walked in while the exchange was taking place and the subject demanded the woman’s cell phone, the police reported. The subject told her that she would not be hurt and requested that she walk the aisles, according to the police.

After obtaining the money the subject fled on foot, according to the police.

If you have any information regarding this case or the identification of the subject, police ask you to contact Detective Jason Bash at 864-848-5351 or at [email protected].
