Greer Police Department K9’s, Boss and Stryker, will each receive a bullet and stab protective vest.
One protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $1,050. Each vest has a value between $1,795 – $2,234 and a five-year warranty, and an average weight of 4-5 pounds.
The vests will be embroidered with the sentiment “Provided by the Ratke’s & local area businesses”. Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.
Yan and Karon Ratke of Spartanburg, hosted an online non-profit fundraiser with Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., to donate the vests.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, Mass. All vests are custom made by Armor Express in Central Lake, Mich.
