Greer police say this man impersonated a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agent in August. Anyone who has information about this case is asked to call the Greer Police Department at 864-848-2151.

The Greer Police Department today released a sketch of a man they said followed a woman home on Aug. 22 about 2:30 a.m. and pretended to be a law enforcement agent.

The person was described as white man, with brown hair, about 6-feet tall and 200 pounds. The police report said he was wearing cream-colored pants and a teal T-shirt.

The woman’s report to police said a white Chevrolet Tahoe followed her vehicle into the parking lot of the Bradford Apartments on Poinsett Street. When she parked near her apartment, she told police, a man approached and called to her while showing a star-shaped badge. The man, according to the woman, said he was with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

The woman remained in her vehicle and called her husband to come outside. According to the report, when her husband walked outside, the man showed his badge and described himself as a deputy. The man left in the white Tahoe, the report said.

The police earlier said the case was administratively closed because there were no leads to follow.

The Greer PD is asking anyone with information about this case to call 864-848-2151.
