Greer's boys fall to Lower Richland in first round of playoffs

Lower Richland defeated Greer, 76-69, Tuesday night in the first round of the boys Class 3A state basketball tournament.

Lower Richland will play Chester Friday night in the second round of the playoffs. Chester beat Emerald, 67-59.

D’Anta Fleming led Greer with 17 points.

Vincent Hicklin of Lower Richland scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Greer, which trailed 35-20 at halftime, pulled to within nine points on Fleming’s 3-pointer with three minutes remaining in the game. A furious final period run saw Greer score 34 points but it only closed the game in the end.
