The new design on the GSP police department's vehicles features a contemporary blue logo.
The new patch GSP police are wearing combines the airport's logo with a passenger plane. The state's crescent moon and Palmetto tree are incorporated in the design.
Police Chief Bobby Welborn said the new look was a team effort from his police force. “Everybody had a chance to have input on the patch and most did,” Welborn said. “The patch incorporates all the element of the airport and the state’s insignia.”
Welborn’s white vehicle has a new design with blue artwork and lettering.
The vehicles have also been updated with computers.
