Cyrano, a 6-month-old bear cub will be at Greer City Park’s amphitheater Thursday, before the free showing of “Brave”, a Disney film, at Moonlight Movies.
Cyrano, the first male born at Hollywild Animal Park, is one of three Syrian bear cubs born in January.
The bear will visit from 6-8 p.m. and viewing of “Brave” is scheduled for 8:45. Photos will be allowed.
“He will be a great ‘spokesbear’ for Hollywild and all its animals and bring a unique element of fun to this wonderful family time. We welcome everyone to come to his area to take photos of him at play,” said Kim Atchley, director of marketing and public relations at Hollywild.
The cubs were born on Jan. 11 and made their first public appearance March 22 at the park's International Earth Day celebration. The triplets are offspring of Ramses, 26, and Giza, 14, who reside at Hollywild with their other offspring.
"Guests have come to expect the unexpected at the movies, but Cyrano's visit is the best surprise yet,” said Steve Owens, the city’s communications manager. “Hollywild does a superb job of educating all ages about the animals in their care and entertaining the thousands of visitors to the park each year, so it was a natural fit given the number of families who attend the movies each week. Making the experience both fun and educational is the best of both worlds for moms and dads."
Midnight Movies regularly offers crafts, activities, and inflatable attractions for children.
