Idol and Teen field reduced to six singers each

Ammadezia Styles and Chase Wolfe were eliminated from Greer Idol and Alex Rosenfeld was ousted from Idol Teen in GreerToday.

That leaves six contestants in each category battling for this year’s championship. Four weeks remain in the competition. Friday night’s Tunes on Trade, featuring the Out-Of-Towners band, returns to Trade and Victoria streets. Last Saturday’s Idol competition was performed in 103 degree heat at the Freedom Blast a City Park.

Idol singers advancing are last year’s runnerup Doug Allen, husband and wife team Lauren and Jeremy McCall, Wally Dreesen, Ryan Wilson and Brittany Pridemore.

Teen Idols left are True Heaven Heflin, Anna McCleer, Kayla Kershaw, Megan Watts and Catherine Warren.

This week’s theme is rhythm and blues from Motown. Singers will perform the entire song with no time limit.

Greer Idol Teen is at 6 Friday, Out-Of-Towners perform at 7 and Greer Idol candidates compete at 8 p.m. with the band finishing out the night’s entertainment.
