Adrian McGee returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown and led Greer on offense with 67 rushing yards.
Zeke Whiteside saved a touchdown when he tracked down an Emerald player after a 90-yard run, stripped the ball from his hands and recovered it.
Here’s how thorough Greer shut down Emerald on offense:

Zeke Whiteside’s spectacular effort in the first half personified Greer’s defensive effort. Mario Cusano was intercepted for the third time in the first half and Emerald returned the ball 90 yards before Whiteside tracked down the runner, ripped the ball away and recovered the fumble.
Greer scored 28 unanswered points on a menu of scores – 4 touchdowns, 2 extra points and a safety.
Cusano and Xavier Wright connected on two scoring plays, Cusano scored on a 12-yard run and Adrian McGee ran back a recovered fumble 21 yards for a touchdown.
Fittingly, Greer took the lead, 15-13, on a safety in the third quarter when Emerald was flagged for a penalty in the end zone.
Two Cusano interceptions by Greenwood put Greer in the hole in the first quarter.
Emerald built its lead when it scored on a 27-yard run one play after intercepting a Cusano pass.
McGee had 67 yards rushing on 20 carries for Greer.
Greer beat Emerald, 34-30, in a first-round playoff game last year, in the first game of the series between the schools.
Greer will play Travelers Rest next Friday in Homecoming at Dooley Field. Travelers Rest, 0-4, lost to Chapman 42-7.
