Limestone University
Mounting injuries forced Limestone to end its season by mutual agreement with Erskine.
The Saints finale scheduled for Saturday at Erskine College has been cancelled, by mutual agreement between the two programs 'as mounting injuries have become a major concern.
The Saints have experienced a rash of injuries at key positions during the course of the spring season. Limestone has been particularly hit hard along the offensive line these past three weeks and was flirting with South Atlantic Conference protocols that call for at least six healthy linemen to be able to safely compete in spring football.
Limestone’s defense has also been pretty banged up along all three levels. The Saints have especially experienced a multitude of injuries within its linebacker corps and has been playing shorthanded along the defensive line and the defensive backfield in each of its three conference games during the abbreviated spring season.
The Saints finish the spring season with a 1-3 overall and a 1-2 mark in SAC. Erskine's season ends at 1-5.
