The Duncan distribution center will replenish inventory at more than 100 stores, serving locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

Lowe’s announced Tuesday that it has opened a new bulk distribution center in Duncan that will bring 150 jobs.

The 1.3-million-square-foot facility received its first shipment of goods on Jan. 7 and plans to begin shipping appliances this week out of the Inland 85 Logistics Center near Inland Port Greer.

Company officials said it will help Lowe’s improve and speed delivery to customers in several Southeastern states.

The Duncan distribution center also will replenish inventory at more than 100 stores, serving locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

“Adding this facility enables us to provide faster and more reliable delivery for our customers, which improves their overall delivery experience,” said Robin Bornkamp, Lowe’s vice president of supply chain strategy and network. “It will help ensure that we have inventory in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantity to meet our customers’ needs.”

Saddle Creek Logistics Services is hiring, and applicants can visit sclogistics.com/careers to learn more and apply for positions.

Lowe’s operates 50 stores and employs more than 7,500 people in South Carolina.
