A memorial service was held today at Wood Mortuary for Sean M. Hendrix, a father of two daughters and son of retired Greer police officer Dan Hendrix.

The younger Hendrix, 34, an Army reservist, died last Friday on Veterans Day, when his 2006 Ford pickup went off the road and struck a tree on Donahue Road shortly after 8:30 a.m.  He served on the Iraq-Kuwait border during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was recently deployed as a drill instructor in Columbia.

Hendrix, who lived on Elcon Drive in Greer, was employed by Pools Pest Control and a member of New Spring Church. He is survived by his daughters, Mikayla Anne, 10, and Kennedy Isabella, 6, of Greer.
