Miss Blue Ridge Relay for Life pageant taking applications

The 7th Annual Miss Blue Ridge Relay for Life Pageant is scheduled for March 16, at 6 p.m. at the Blue Ridge High School Auditorium.

The BRHS Air Force Junior ROTC is the pageant’s sponsor. This year’s theme, in partnership with Relay for Life, is “Wave Goodbye to Cancer”.

Blue Ridge High females are eligible to enter. Competition will be in casual wear and evening wear. Registration forms available in the Student Information Center across from Mrs. Thornton’s office.

Last year’s pageant, with 20 girls participating, raised almost $2,700 towards the final school total of almost $4,500.  This year’s school goal is $2,800.

National Honor Society members and ROTC cadets are teaming up for the event.   Specially designed T-shirts will be available to order honoring family and friends of the community affected by cancer.  All profits go to the American Cancer Society.

The Greer Relay for Life is May 17.

Admission is $6 per person, children 3 and under is free. Tickets go on sale March 16 in the front lobby beginning at 5 p.m.
