Head basketball coach Jeff Neely is leaving Greer High School to become boys basketball coach at Christ Church in Greenville. He replaces R.J. Beach who will remain as athletic director.

Neely, 57, coached the Greer boys for 26 years, winning the Class AAA state championship in 2005 and advancing to the state finals in 1995, 2005 and 2009. He recorded more than 350 victories and 11 region championships.

Neely’s children have graduated Greer, with his daughter, Caroline, entering college last fall.

Beach reportedly opted to become full-time athletic director with Christ Church adding two additional sports this spring. Beach recorded 314 victories while accumulating six region championships.
