No. 4 Greer plays Chapman in key Region II matchup

Greer plays Chapman Friday night and will try to continue its unbeaten streak with an 8th straight victory. The game is at Dooley Field and begins at 7:30 p.m.

Emerald beat Chapman, 55-22, last week for the Panthers only region defeat. Greer beat Emerald 28-13 in Week 4.

Mario Cusano, a junior quarterback, has completed 66 percent of his passes for 1,141 yards with 15 touchdowns. He has only thrown three interceptions. Adrian McGee, 841 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns leads Greer's running game. Dorian Lindsey, 34 receptions for 548 yards and 7 touchdowns is Cusano's favorite target. Lindsey has rushed for 185 yards and 5 touchdowns.

DeShawn Davis became Chapman's all-time leading receiver last week with his 167th career receptions. He also has the most career yard with 2,766. Davis has 45 passes caught for 626 yards and 7 touchdowns this year. Adam McClure, 28 receptions, 550 yards and 7 TDs is averaging 19.7 yards per catch.

• Riverside (2-5, 1-2) plays at Mauldin (4-3, 2-1) in a Region II-4A game. Riverside was ahead of Byrnes midway in the second quarter before falling to the Rebels last week.

• Southside (4-3, 2-2) plays at Blue Ridge (5-2, 3-1) in a Region 3A game.

• Berea (2-5, 1-3) plays at Eastside (1-6, 0-4) in a Region II-3A game.
