Northwood Little League Minors is in the championship game of the Little League Minors Southeast Regional Tournament of Champions.
Northwood, the South Carolina state champions, edged Georgia, 6-5, Tuesday in the semifinals at Elm Street Park in Greenville, N.C. The team from Taylors plays North Carolina, a 13-2 winner over Virginia in Tuesday’s first semifinal game.
The championship game, 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, will be the first meeting between the team in the tournament.
South Carolina is 4-1 in the tournament, working its way to the championship game after losing its first game, 15-12, to Florida in the opening game on Saturday. North Carolina is 3-1.
