Allie Lena Howell McDade, 97, widow of George Washington "G.W." McDade, passed away on June 28, 2014 at St. Francis Eastside.

A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Moon Howell, she retired from Conestee Mill and Byrd Furniture Co., was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and DAV Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. McDade overcame many health challenges, was well loved by many extended family and friends and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her life inspired us, her loved sustained us and her memory will be a shining light forever in our hearts.

Surviving:

Surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dean and Margie Howell of Greer, J.R. and Zelma Howell of Greer, Wendell and Jeanette Howell of Taylors; two sisters, Jeanette Kirby and Katherine Odom both of Greer; and many special nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McDade was predeceased by two brothers, Herman Howell and Marshall Howell and two sisters, Corene Holcombe and Gladys Byars.

Funeral Services:

A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cross Roads Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Michael Sheehan, Rev. Joey Estes and Rev. Heath Carruth.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Odom, Jr., Bryan Swanner, Johnny Simmons, John Steele, David Burgess, Tommy Holcombe, Jimmy Howell and Robert Williams.

Honorary escorts will be the Winsome Sunday School Class and the deacons of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

The families are at their respective homes.
