Charles (Ed) Thomason, 87, of 106 Hatchett St., Spartanburg, died December 20, 2012 at the home.
A native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late D.L. and Lois Williams Thomason, a member of Tucapau Baptist Church and was co-owner/operator of Thomason Bro. Exxon of Startex. He was a lifetime member and treasurer for over 30 years of Tucapau Lodge #253. He was a member of the S.C. Service Station Dealers Association and also served as treasurer. He was treasurer for Startex Community Action and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. His first wife was the late Margaret Jackson Thomason.
Surviving:
Surviving are his wife, Linda Dale Thomason of the home; a step-daughter, Jacqueline Jarrell of Inman; one step-son, Dwayne Keith Starnes of Shelby, N.C.; one brother, Earl Thomason of Startex; two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Jarrell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Thomason was also predeceased by two brothers.
Funeral Services:
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Eric Nixon. Burial will be in Wood Memorial Park.
Honorary escort will be members of Tucapau Lodge #253.
Friends may call al the home. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:45 p.m.-1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
