David Edward Sammons, Sr., 71, passed away December 22, 2021.

A native of Greenville, David is preceded in death by his parents Thaddeus
Edward Sammons, Jr., and Edna Racheal Lollis Sammons. David was a retired
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation employee and a member of Taylors First
Baptist Church.

David was a man who loved the Lord with all his heart, and he allowed everyone
to see that. He loved his country and the men and women who serve and protect it.

One of his proudest accomplishments was being an Air Force veteran.

Family was everything to David. He loved David and Nancy more than everything. He loved being a dad and a grandpa. He also loved spending time with Martha. They shared a lot of trips and adventures together, and she lit up his world.

Surviving:

David is survived by his loving companion, Martha Robertson of Taylors; his son,
David Edward Sammons, Jr. (Allison) of Greenville; his daughter, Nancy
Summerour of Rincon, Georgia; his brother, Guy Sammons (Sandra) of Savannah,
Georgia; his sister, Gena Mistretta (Pete) of Taylors; and six grandchildren, Abby,
Kylie, Natalie, Riley, Kaytie, and Zane.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at
Mountain Creek Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Allan Bosson.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David E. Sammons, Jr., Riley Sammons, Pete Mistretta,
Tommy Sammons, Marshall Hinds, Zane Summerour, Guy Sammons, Clay
Bradbury, and Benjamin Sammons.

Honorary escort will be the Senior Fellowship Group of Taylors First Baptist
Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday at the church from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.

The family is at their respective homes.
